On May 6, 2023, the “Amber Cup” Chinese University Alumni Tennis Friendly Match in Vancouver concluded successfully. The event, featuring 26 teams from well-known Chinese universities and over 120 alumni, spanned a whole day of intense competition. The participants competed in women’s doubles, men’s doubles, and mixed doubles, showcasing their skills and camaraderie.

The “Amber Cup” Chinese University Alumni Tennis Friendly Match kicked off with the women’s doubles and mixed doubles matches at 9:00 AM, despite the light rain in Vancouver on Saturday. The tennis enthusiasts on the court demonstrated great spirit, and the sidelines were filled with cheering teammates.

This competition brought together alumni from various Chinese universities, including graduates with bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees, as well as MBA and EMBA alumni. The level of play was high, and the matches were intense. The event operated on a trust system without dedicated referees, emphasizing the spirit of “friendship first, competition second” throughout. Whether celebrating victories together or encouraging each other in defeats, the camaraderie among the alumni was the most beautiful scene on the entire court.

The results for women’s doubles were announced first, with Zhejiang University claiming the championship. The mixed doubles results followed, with Shanghai Jiao Tong University securing the title. The highly spirited men’s doubles competition also saw Zhejiang University emerge as the champions. The results of the tennis tournament were as follows:

With the trophy in hand, witnessing the competitive spirit on the field, and raising a toast to celebrate, the “Amber Cup” Chinese University Alumni Tennis Friendly Match concluded on May 6 at 7:00 PM. The closing ceremony and awards banquet followed.

The awards banquet was hosted by Frank from the tennis match organizing committee and Guan from Sun Yat-sen University Alumni Association. Carrie Zhu, Market Director of Amber Financial, and Judy Dou, Co-founder of LongMei Real Estate, as representatives of the title sponsor and diamond sponsor, respectively, delivered speeches. The banquet then proceeded to the group photo session of representatives from participating university alumni associations and the award presentation.

After the award presentation, the banquet entered into four rounds of the lottery segment, with over 20 exquisite prizes worth over $3500 in total being distributed. Vancouver Laser, Amber Financial, Tina Guo, and Phantom Creek Winery generously contributed to the prize pool.

The atmosphere at the banquet was lively, with alumni enthusiastically engaged in discussions, raising toasts, and applause echoing throughout. The banquet concluded with expressions of gratitude from the alumni to the organizing committee and sponsors, looking forward to another reunion on the court next year.
