The event delved into the significant role of jade in Chinese culture, modern consumer choices regarding jade, and how to distinguish authentic jade from imitations.
Since ancient times, jade has been regarded as a symbol of virtue and elegance, embodying profound cultural connotations. Janelle shared the unique position of jade in Chinese culture, quoting the line “Jade in the mountains nourishes the grass; pearls from the depths never fade,” illustrating the close connection between jade and virtue. During the session, Janelle detailed common jade counterfeiting methods such as acid washing, dyeing, and resin injection.
