In the warm and welcoming days of May, Amber Financial proudly hosted an inspiring parent-child education seminar titled “Unlocking the Genetic Code of Children’s Intrinsic Motivation” at the NPC Arts Training Center in West Vancouver. With a profound blend of theory and practical experience, keynote speaker Ms. Yisong offered deep and compassionate insight into one of parenting’s most critical challenges: how should parents truly support their children through the pivotal years of adolescence?

To open the event, Bailey Wu, representing the co-host NPC Arts Training Center, extended a heartfelt welcome to all attending families. As a renowned local institution dedicated to arts education for children and teens aged 3 to 18, NPC deeply understands the strong connection between artistic learning, emotional development, and family support. Bailey shared her excitement in joining hands with Ms. Yisong and Amber Financial to bring such a meaningful event to the West Vancouver community.

Kicking off the seminar, Ms. Yisong addressed challenges familiar to almost every family in the room: conflicts triggered by homework, resistance to communication, dependency on digital devices, and a general lack of motivation toward learning. Many parents nodded in agreement, seeing their own experiences reflected in her words. These are not isolated issues, she explained, but signals of deeper concerns—namely, a lack of inner drive, weakened family trust, and outdated or misaligned parenting strategies.

Keynote Speaker – Ms. Yisong
Rather than urging parents to push harder with reminders and rules, Ms. Yisong encouraged a shift in perspective—from “monitoring” to “awakening.” True motivation, she emphasized, does not come from pressure or control, but from within. A child’s intrinsic drive is nurtured through self-awareness, trust in their caregivers, and opportunities for independent decision-making. She urged parents to release control, listen more deeply, and create space for their children to grow into ownership of their choices.
Throughout the session, Ms. Yisong illustrated her message with heartfelt, real-life stories—from guiding a gaming-addicted teenager back into a healthy learning rhythm, to helping a sensitive young girl rediscover her confidence, to repairing the emotional bond between estranged parents and children through small, consistent acts of empathy. These powerful examples reassured parents that no matter how complex the situation, there is always a path forward—if the approach is rooted in understanding, patience, and love.

As the seminar came to a close, many parents shared their emotions and takeaways. One father expressed how, for the first time, he truly understood why his child resists studying—shifting from blame to empathy. Another parent shared that they had nearly lost hope in communicating with their child, but left the session with renewed optimism and practical insight. A common realization resonated throughout the room: parenting isn’t just about raising children—it’s about growing together.
Adolescence is a time of rapid transformation for children—and an equally profound challenge for parents. We extend our deepest gratitude to Ms. Yisong for her wisdom and warmth, and for helping parents move from control to connection, from anxiety to inspiration. May every parent become not just a guide, but a beacon in their child’s life journey.
