From July 27 to 28, 2024, the vibrant heartbeats of Chinese tradition echoed through Central Park, Burnaby, during the much-anticipated Chinese Cultural Heritage Festival and the 16th Vancouver Water-Splashing Festival. Organized by the Federation of Canadian Chinese Associations, these events saw Amber Financial in a distinguished role as co-chair, actively participating throughout the festivities.
The festival spanned two exhilarating days, drawing thousands into a colorful celebration filled with large-scale parades, an array of performances, and nearly a hundred entertainment activities. It served as a jubilant summer carnival that brought Chinese traditional culture to life in Canada.
Esteemed across various communities, the “Chinese Cultural Heritage Festival” has consistently captured the attention and support of governmental bodies at all three levels in Canada, emphasizing the invaluable contributions of Chinese immigrants to the nation’s fabric. The BC government has, for several years, declared the last week of July as “Chinese Cultural Heritage Week,” inviting people from all ethnic backgrounds to partake in the festivities.
This year’s event was a cultural tapestry, showcasing a wealth of traditional and contemporary performances that celebrated the richness of Chinese heritage. From the mesmerizing grace of lion dances and Tai Chi to the captivating rhythms of exotic music and dance, the festival offered a spectacular cultural feast that underscored the power and beauty of diversity.
Amber Financial played a pivotal role as a co-chair and participant, hosting an engaging booth complete with raffles and interactive games that delighted festival-goers.
