On January 19, 2025, the CEIBS Vancouver Alumni Association hosted the “Humans in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” seminar at Amber Financial. The event featured alumnus Dong Liang, a renowned cultural scholar and entrepreneur, who discussed the impact of artificial intelligence on human identity, thought processes, and future development.
The seminar began with a welcome from Yi Song, President of the CEIBS Vancouver Alumni Association, who thanked Dong Liang for his insights. Yi Song highlighted the alumni association’s efforts since 2015 to support over 300 alumni families and build a platform for communication and learning. Amber Financial, the event host, is also an alumni-founded business.
Dong Liang’s lecture explored the upcoming arrival of general AI and its effects on various aspects of human life, including work, education, and investments. He delved into sociological concepts of human relevance in the AI era and shared Eastern philosophical perspectives, offering new ways for individuals to find meaning in a rapidly changing world.
Dong Liang, a CEIBS EMBA alumnus, is the founder of Zheng’an Group and the Zheng’an Foundation, and has produced several influential media programs and books. His recent work focuses on spreading Daoist philosophy and fostering a global dialogue between Chinese culture and the world.
